Support Services - Technical Troubleshooting

As great as technology can be, there are times when it can encounter numerous problems. If you are experiencing any difficulties with emails or with your website, please follow these simple checklists as they may resolve any issues you are having.



Cannot Send or Receive emails:

  • Check your broadband connection. If this isn't working, contact your broadband provider.
  • Empty your junk mail folders, inbox and sent items of unnecessary messages. These can often fill your inbox, preventing messages from filtering through.
  • If you have any large attachments in your inbox, please save these files to your pc and proceed to delete them from the email account. This will free up a lot of space in your inbox.
  • Check if you can send or receive messages via webmail. You can do this by logging in with your email address and password at www.strategy-plus.net/mail/. Send yourself an email and if it arrives in your inbox safely then you know that the issue is not with our server but with a local server to your pc. Your IT support dept should then be able to look at the problem.

Repeatedly asked for password when sending/receiving:

  • Check your security settings by doing the following:
  • In Outlook go into 'Tools - Email accounts - Change/View accounts.' Be sure that the tickbox for 'require logon using secure password authentication' is empty. Go into more settings, click the outgoing server tab and make sure the box for 'outgoing server requires authentication' is ticked and the 'use same settings...' button is selected. Finally, go to the advanced tab and make sure the box for 'this server requires an encrypted connection' isn't ticked.

Cannot See Website:

  • Check your broadband connection. Can you get on other sites such as www.bbc.co.uk? If not please contact your broadband provider.
  • If you have control of your domain check to see if your registration has expired.
If these checks don't solve the problems please contact us.
