Recruitment and selection process
We employ every avenue to recruit our staff, from local news papers, job magazines, job web sites, local radio station and television Channel 6.
All applicants must provide valid ID, passport, drivers licence or birth certificate.
All temporary and permanent candidates undergo a thorough interview with one of our experienced consultants. The interview process lasts from 45 minutes to an hour and half dependant on the tests administered.
The interview explores the applicants work history, reasons for leaving previous roles, availability for interviews and work preferences to include hours and geographical areas.
All applicants undergo a series of tests dependant on their nature of work. These tests range from visual comparison, manual dexterity and colour blindness for Industrial work placements and tacograph tests for driving personnel.
The applicant is made aware of our expectations at the initial interview. This includes, reporting absence, office open hours, the telephone number of the 24-hour manned phone, health and safety, confidentiality, working time directive, the procedure for booking holiday and the deadlines for the timesheets.
All this information can be reiterated in a starter pack specifically designed to mirror your own internal policies.
All temporary staff are referenced prior to commencement of an assignment. References cover the last two positions or the last five years which ever is the longest.
‘Breakfast Club’
Every morning from 7.30am, Zotec run a breakfast club. Available industrial applicants are invited into the office and are provided with tea, coffee, toast and a morning paper.
The purpose of this breakfast club is for Zotec staff to source additional applicants for new and existing clients or alternatively to backfill an assignment in the event of sickness.
In addition to this service, we also create ‘stand by’ lists for clients with a regular requirement, to ensure that we generate a pool of people who have been tried and tested on site and available at short notice.
