According to Forrester’s European Online Retail Forecast 2012-2017,UK online retail sales will grow by 10% a year to reach a total £54.7bn in 2017, from £41.8bn in 2012. Any business selling products or services that could be done online should be done online! There is still growth in the online market and room for more Ecommerce websites.

 

You may be put off by the fact that there is so much competition but just like high street retailing it’s all about positioning yourself in the market and focusing your products/services to your target Market/Buyer Personas. Online buyers can be much more price sensitive due the ease in which you can compare prices but they will still pay a little extra to a more trusted website. The very last factor mentioned is key because in the UK, the ecommerce market will be driven by mobiles as it enjoys strong growth.
